RELEASE RELIEF

HYO SHIN MISSIONS FOUNDATION

We are a politically and religiously independent nonprofit organization headquartered in New York City with a long history of helping the underprivileged children and families around the world.  The Hyo Shin Missions Foundation in America was established in 2007 by Jikag Pang who originally founded the Hyo Shin Mission in 1958 in Korea.

Our current project focuses on reaching out to the refugees in the world, especially, Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Europe since 2015. We are deploying our teams to the sites of the refugee crisis in order to empower the asylum seekers and refugees; besides providing urgently needed access to water, food, shelter, clothing, medicine and sanitation, we are  also compelled to release relief, especially, through artistic initiatives in collaboration with the refugees. People need hope and love.

Hundreds of thousands of refugees are attempting the dangerous trip across the Mediterranean Sea from Turkey to Greece, hoping to find a better future in Europe—and unfortunately, not all of them make it across. Those who do, then face steep challenges from strained resources and minimal services due to the enormity of the situation. UNHCR Global Trends report finds 65.3 million people, or one person in 113, were displaced from their homes by conflict and persecution in 2015.

The report, entitled Global Trends, noted that on average 24 people were forced to flee each minute in 2015, four times more than a decade earlier when six people fled every 60 seconds.

The detailed study, which tracks forced displacement worldwide based on data from governments, partner agencies and UNHCR’s own reporting, found a total 65.3 million people were displaced at the end of 2015, compared to 59.5 million just 12 months earlier.
